The Scandinavian Forum

2014

Alrisalah Scandinavian Foundation is always eager to contribute to the field of cultural and civilizational communication and to the preservation of Arabic and Islamic culture. Our aim is to build bridges between the different walks of Scandinavian society in order to create harmony and mutual understanding between its populations.
It is for this noble cause that the Foundation organizes a forum named First Scandinavian Forum on Civilizational Communication, which will be held in the city of Örebro, Sweden on 7th to 9th November 2014.
The purpose of the forum is to sow seeds of strategic development and establish Scandinavian institutions with the ability to effectively contribute to and improve civilizational communication. Through such institutions, Arab culture and Islamic traditions can be represented and presented in a much better way and contribute toward solving the existing clashes in Scandinavian society.

Aims and objectives of the Forum:

1. To outline the priorities and needs when working in the field of civilizational communication.
2. To collaborate with the participants in deriving strategies and roadmaps for effectively executing the tasks of Alrisalah Scandinavian Foundation’s administration of cultural and civilizational communication for the years 2014 to 2018.
3. To hold lectures and seminars aimed at raising the efficiency of the individual working in the field.
4. To join efforts and cooperate with active public institutions in Scandinavia in spreading civilizational communication.
5. To collect and document all completed and currently ongoing works of translation material.
6. To establish a clear and united vision among institutions and organizations on how to cater for the needs of Muslims in Scandinavia.
7. To work toward the establishment of yearly conferences, forums and practical workshops for those working in the field.

The First Scandinavian Forum for Civilizational Communication will also hold discussions on topics such as:

1. Civilizational communication in Scandinavia – The reality on the ground and the current challenges
2. Ethnic Scandinavian Muslims and their role in civilizational communication
3. The media and its role in civilizational communication
4. To train and prepare individuals who are active within the field of civilizational communication.
5. The importance of compiling and translating educational material and their role in civilizational communication.

Since our Foundation has the means and the capacity based on its vast experience in the field, we have carefully selected the factions that we believe will be able to contribute to this forum with their thoughts and perspectives on how to move forward and attain the desired goal. A goal none other than to cater for and serve the Muslim minorities, but Scandinavian society as a whole. Among these selected factions are:

1. Institutions and public profiles that are active in the field of civilizational communication.
2. Authors and translators

4. University teachers
5. Individuals working with informing about Islam
6. Individuals working in the media
